Your Essential Network Marketing Success Factors

There are many factors that may influence whether or not you’ll succeed in your network marketing business. Of course, the company that you choose – the products – the compensation plan, all play a role. But, their role actually plays a small part compared to one. As a matter of fact, this ONE is the most influential determinant of your success in any endeavor. 

I’ve said it many times before and I certainly don’t mind saying it again: Ultimately, you decide where you’ll go by virtue of you mindset – your beliefs and subsequent actions. YOU play the key role for your network marketing success.

network marketing successThere are so many stories about people not succeeding in the network marketing industry. I’m sure that you’ve heard the most cited statistic – 97% of those who try, fail. They didn’t make any money, they didn’t add any team members. I don’t know if this statistic is accurate or not, I hope that it isn’t. However, this I do know – it’s up to YOU to decide if this will be true for you! You’ll prepare for your success by knowing and implementing some basic network marketing success factors.

No need to scratch your head trying to figure out why some succeed while others have a hard time or simply don’t. Here’s the secret: successful people plan for their success. It’s no mystery at all.

Have these basic success factors under your belt PRIOR to setting out to create your network marketing success. 

#1) Have a definite purpose!

The most successful network marketers know what they want to accomplish in their business. You’ve gotten into the business to earn an income. Just claiming that fact is not enough. You must specifically know what earning an income or more of an income will allow you to do. How will it specifically impact network marketing successyour life and the lives of those you care about. Usually, the person who introduced you to the business or your chosen coach will work with you to flesh out your “why”. Your “why” will sustain you – that is the real motivator that will have you engaging in your business to the max. Being able to articulate your “why” is among the most pivotal network marketing strategies for success. Your story will not only continue to inspire you, it will also inspire others along your way. Isn’t that one of the things that you want to accomplish anyway? In this business, people generally join those who they can relate to and who they can see themselves establishing a relationship with through mutually beneficial work.

Spend some time to consider your definite purpose, write it down, and look at it everyday. What is your purpose for entering the network marketing industry – what do you want to accomplish and why?

2) Know that somethings got to give!

This is HUGE!!! Far too many people underestimate their responsibility of “giving up a few things” in order to succeed. The bottom line is creating network marketing success may not be comfortable all of the time neither does it happen by mistake. It’s a very intentional act that requires some level of compromise in the process.

For example, you may have your favorite shows that you like to watch or a hobby that you like to pursue in your spare time. However, when you commit to building your network marketing business, those shows may be missed and your hobby may be placed on hold temporarily in place of you attending networking events and hosting business opportunity meetings.

If you establish what areas you’re willing to compromise on the front end in order to achieve your goals on the back end, this step alone will reveal if you have what it takes to be a leader in this industry!

3) Consciously decide who will surround you!

Simply put, Your Network = Your Net Worth…

In this industry, you have the pleasure of being in the company of Millionaires, positive thinkers and Dream Builders. Network marketing is one profession that consistently promotes the message that you MUST maximize your life and commit to personal development every day.

The key to bringing this message to life for yourself is to do whatever it takes to get around those who are where you want to be. You will no longer desire to be around your mediocre friends who live their lives based on “what happens, happens!”

Instead, you’ll want to live an intentional life by surrounding yourself with sharp people who challenge you to grow and stretch beyond your comfort zone.

If you do this, you’ll find yourself soaring with Eagles rather than watching those who do this soar!

4) Create a plan and take action!

A strategic plan of action is extremely important in the process of building your network marketing business. Retailing and Recruiting are obviously fundamental keys to network marketing to generate an income in this industry, but if you want to really leverage your business and the efforts of others, you must know the following things:

A. How much you want to earn, and what it take to earn it?network marketing success
B. What systems are in place for the sales process of building your business?
C. What are the Income Producing Activities, and what should you be doing daily to get closer and closer to your goals?

Once you’ve mapped out the numbers, the system and the activities, you’re destined to exceed every goal you have “IF” you focus on taking action!

These factors are extremely critical to the success of your business and if you focus on these core elements up front, you’ll find yourself sailing to the top amidst the other 3%’ers and living the life that you both envisioned and planned!

I love your post. In fact, it gave me an idea for a blog post.

My fav is #2. This relates directly to the “Law of Sacrifice” which states that we must forego something of a lower value to attain something of a higher value. When people think of sacrifice, they think about giving up something. This is only half the story. Applying the Law of Sacrifice to your life is about gain–not loss. Its proper application will cause you to advance in life–not move back.

People want success but are sometimes unwilling to give up simple pleasures in life, even on a temporary basis, in order to achieve their goals. Funny, isn’t it.

thanks for your inspiring post about succeeding in your network marketing business.. I hope you are in the 3% who made it.

I shy away from most of them at one time or another for what ever reason.. spent lots of money and time to do it as I was told it would be successful.. I seen MLM companies come and go as fast as the wind and I tell you.. NOTHING worked for me.

I finally understood why.. I just did not like to be at the mercy of others and went in a different direction.

Mind you the different direction was not always the ultimate answer… but I could live with it much better than following someone who it would be there today and gone tomorrow.

Now I work toward becoming confident day after day knowing that is the most important solid base I need to have and pursue what is my passion, support others as best as I possibly can.

A strong and vibrant Warrior as your self, must have gone on that route at one time or another so I know you are aware of what I am saying here and HOPE you are taking the pathway that feel great for you, the one that follow your passion as you stated in one of the Success Factors you listed above.

I can feel your success.. and love the energy that you emit through your articles…

Would love to work along side with you for a common goal… and I know that when the time come, it will be great.

My favorite is number 4: Create a plan of action. We need to do all the steps you mention above, but I like planning. Planning so much so, that I write down everything backwards. Yep!
My main giant goal first, then I work down the many ways to get there. Once that is all mapped out, I start my plan of action. Sure it takes time, but if we dot our i’s and corss our t’s, it becomes a mechanical process. And all I have to do is be consistent with it!

Hi Dena,

Great post. I think there are so many aspects of being successful or not in network marketing. I have come to believe that a lot of network marketing has to do with luck and timing. I have known some people do very little work and recruiting and make a lot of money and some people recruit loads and not had the success they deserve.

It takes time and effort and lots of starting over in my opinion until you find the winning ingredients. It is a lot of fun though.

I like what you said about “somethings got to give”. There’s no way you can do everything, especially if you’re creating/running a business online. You have to be “willing” to give up some time to do your business. There are no quick riches overnight ( except life itself is filled with “riches” – depending on how you look at it). It takes time. Hours of watching TV rob the hours you could spend on your business. Great insight and agree with you 100%!

This is excellent advice for those new to Network Marketing to keep in mind right from the start. However it will still take them some time to gain enough experience to work out where their main efforts should lie. There is often some trial and error as well as a lot of learning before you can see the real path to success. Many give up before they get to that stage, allowing themselves to be discouraged by their results rather than taking stock of where they went wrong and changing direction.
